I (Laura) found this one sitting as a draft. Looks like we haven't really done much. What a great blog we've got going so far. I promise it will get better as we actually travel up there.

We haven't really done much planning this month. I (Amy) have spent every weekend in Edmonds. Actually, out of the last 10ish weekends I've spent all but two in Edmonds - one was in Vegas, one in B'ham. In a way, I've already moved here. I also officially submitted my letter of resignation last week: my official last day at work is July 13th. Now everyone at work knows I'm leaving, instead of just my closest coworkers.
I'm not quite sure what Laura has done this month. As far as I know, there hasn't been much planning on her part. I believe she has done some research on places to live, but since most are 'available now', there isn't necessarily tons she can do. My parents are looking into things to do when they visit in September.
So our goal for June should probably be to plan more. There is no reason we can't get the road trip planned completely. Same goes for my parents trip. Some things about the move (ie. where to live) may not necessarily be plannable, but that shouldn't stop us from trying!

July
With moving and all of the other excitements of Summer, we have had little to post on the blog. I has been continuing to check out housing in Fairbanks, and has been in communication with my advisor about how to smoothly transition into Alaska. There are a number of nice "damp" cabins that are becoming available, and every one that I see gets me more excited about the prospect of living in a cabin up there.
I am busy moving out of my current place and look forward to getting home to visit my family before heading north. I'm sure that once Amy and I are together, facing the fact that we are going on this road trip within a week, we will get serious about planning. I think we can figure out the route well enough, but making sure that we take our time to see some of the wonderful things along the way is probably just as important. And making sure we have somewhere to sleep each night. I don't think we could stand sleeping in the car like we did on our Southern Journeys, nor do I imagine we want to.
